10 Things About Maddie:
I love ice cream. Chocolate chip cookie dough and mint chip are both favorites, but if Thrifty’s Chocolate Malt Crunch is around, it is the clear winner.
The lullaby I sing my babies to sleep with is “The Sweetheart Tree” from the movie “The Great Race.”
I’m married to an East Coast boy whose love for the Yankees knows no bounds.
I love to take pictures….pretty obvious? I’ve been taking pictures since I was little using instamatic film.
I have three kids, a 5 year old girl and 2 year old and 9 month old boys. Yes, I am very very busy.
I am an LCSW and worked as a therapist and social worker full time/part time for 9 years. I LOVE talking about feelings and relationships!
If I could live in NYC from September 1st--January 1st and San Diego the rest of the year, I would be a happy camper.
Reading is my favorite. Favorite books include (but are not limited to) The Harry Potter series, The Secret Garden (go read it now, it is amazing!), and To Kill a Mockingbird.
I learned how to cross stitch a few years ago and create custom family portraits for friends and family.
Sometimes I love running and sometimes I don’t. Right now I’m in a don’t phase, but I’ve run 3 half marathons. One while I was pregnant with my first baby.
Bonus Fact: My magical power is stopping the microwave with exactly 1 second left.
My first DSLR was given to me by my grandma, who told me she was making an "investment." She seemed to see something I didn't. Even before that camera, I loved taking pictures and documenting the world around me through photos. I grew up in Fresno and recently moved back home after living in NYC and San Diego. I'm glad to be back in the Central Valley! I'm married to a teacher husband and we have a 5 year old, 2 year old and a baby.
I've been capturing authentic, joyful photos of families and young children for the past five years. As a mother of three kids ages five and under, I have a lot of love and understanding for little ones who might not be all that excited about being photographed. From the hammiest of hams to the shy guys, I love adapting my approach to help kids have a great time -- and make some great photos.
